So football was very cool, the bar is good and does cheaper beers for people on football days (since there wasn't a seat free at all). However, the best part is that someone recognized our table as americans (perhaps that we were speaking english) and came over and invited us out to watch the green bay vs. giants game. pretty sweet, so I was the only one who went...they logged into a friend's slingbox in chicago and projected the game onto the wall...around 3:15 I had to go (giants 20, green bay 17) and missed the end of the game. I also missed my bus because I waited at the wrong stop on the wrong side of the street, I had felt pretty cool 'cause I found the stop in the first place...too bad I was completely turned around and tried to go south instead of north!
walking and more night buses got me home though, and only 30 minutes later than my original route would have.

SO, how's your winter clothing holding up to such undue expectations? 3:15? (ouch...hope it wasn't windy...)
yes, goob how are they? since I am the great provider of warmth from the north. Texas is much warmer than the north and everyone whines a lot about the cold. Luckily I brought all of my sweaters and long sleeves (not that many altogether) and I am a snug bug in a rug. I don't run the wood stove at night b/c the pipe is too leaky. Hopefully fixing that this weekend. Had a woodfired shower the other night (so warm, for so long). The preparation is worth it. My kitchen mate and I get along superbly, as far as I know, and have very similar cooking and eating habits for lunch and dinner so we are able to share....bye! svoober
the socks are fantastic in every way shape and form...I haven't had to use the long underwear since it hasn't gotten that cold yet. it's been 28-45ish since I got here.
good to hear texas (pronounced te-hass) is going well svee!
I don't put my long underwear on until it gets under 10....too bad that happens every day here in crazy Minnesota
